Future Readiness Project

Equipping children to meet uncertainty with resilience, kindness, and curiosity.

I believe that children deserve more than answers to yesterday’s questions — they need the courage and imagination to shape tomorrow.

The world is changing faster than any generation has faced before. Our Future Readiness Projects give children the tools to explore uncertainty with confidence, kindness, and creativity — so they learn that the future is not something that happens to them, but something they can help create.

Who is this project for?

Our Future Readiness Projects are designed for children, young people, and the adults who support them — teachers, parents, and community leaders.

They are especially valuable for schools and organisations that want to equip the next generation with the curiosity, creativity, and resilience needed to thrive in a world shaped by rapid change.

What can I expect?
Why it matters
Where is it located and when?

Children today face a world that will not look the same tomorrow. Traditional learning often prepares them for yesterday’s challenges, not tomorrow’s uncertainties. Future Readiness Projects flip the focus: we give children space to test ideas, imagine alternatives, and practise adaptability in safe, creative environments.

By experimenting together, children learn that uncertainty is not something to fear, but a space where innovation, empathy, and resilience can thrive. These projects are about preparing children not just for exams, but for life — a life where their ideas and courage will shape the future.

Future Readiness Projects will launch from 2026 in collaboration with schools, youth organisations, and community hubs across the UK. Initial pilots will run in diverse settings — from rural classrooms to urban community spaces — to ensure inclusivity and adaptability. As the model grows, we aim to create an evolving toolkit of tested missions that can be shared nationally and internationally.

Each project is a testbed for new ways of learning and adapting. We prototype hands-on missions where children explore big questions about the future — from technology to climate, from kindness to community. Activities mix storytelling, design thinking, and playful exploration, encouraging children to imagine “what if” and “what next” with courage.

Projects are co-created with Acorn Studio Press facilitators and local partners, ensuring they are grounded in real-world needs while giving children the space to dream boldly and test ideas safely.
