Who is this project for?

Our Community Initiatives are designed for children, families, and local groups in neighbourhoods where opportunities for creative engagement may be limited.

They are particularly suited to libraries, community centres, cultural festivals, and grassroots organisations that want to spark curiosity, connection, and joy.

Where is it located and when?

In many communities, children and families lack spaces to meet, create, and imagine together. Our initiatives show that when curiosity is celebrated, barriers fall away — children discover confidence, families feel supported, and communities reconnect.

By embedding creativity and kindness into everyday places, we help build stronger, more inclusive communities that can adapt and thrive.

Pilots begin in 2025 with a small number of Suffolk and East Anglia partners, with the aim of scaling to other UK regions from 2026 onwards. Events are delivered in partnership with local councils, cultural groups, and community networks.

Each initiative is collaborative and place-based, built with local partners to reflect the strengths of their community. Activities might include pop-up storytelling corners, intergenerational workshops, curiosity trails, or co-created murals.

The format is flexible but always anchored in Acorn’s values: curiosity, creativity, and kindness. Facilitators bring ready-to-use packs and guidance, while local volunteers help sustain the activity long after the first event.
